Anyone planning a wedding will have had this discussion – what song do we have for our first dance? Do we have a DJ, or shall we get a live wedding band (If you haven’t – get ready, you will do soon)! The choice of typical wedding music and songs is endless, so how do you choose which one to go for.
One of our recent customers, Ra’Shawn Jones-Brown, had decided on something a little different – and we were more than happy to help. She had her wedding planned at Hunton Park in Hertfordshire, and we had been in discussion on how to make her first dance magical and incorporate a mix of music using a live DJ.
“…Our first dance was not traditional and was made possible with the help of Your Event UK’s event manager Simon Feldman. My husband and I wanted to do a first dance that united both of our cultures. I choreographed a routine for us to perform involving a slow song (Luther Vandross) into a Hip Hop routine into a Bhangra routine. I was thinking I would have to pay to go into a recording studio to have the songs merged together but Simon provided this service to us for free (how amazing). We were told by all of our guests how wonderful the music was.”
That’s right, why pick one song when you can merge three together in a musical mash-up unique to the happy couple! Take a listen and see what you think:
